FDAS

Fire Detection and Alarm Systems (FDAS) are vital for ensuring life safety by detecting fires early and alerting occupants and responders. Fire alarm systems often include smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual pull stations, and notification appliances such as bell and horn strobes.

Fire Sprinkler

Automatic sprinklers are devices that react to specific temperatures by releasing a stream of water in predetermined patterns and quantities to extinguish or prevent the spread of fire. The water is distributed through a network of pipes, typically installed overhead, with sprinklers placed at regular intervals along the pipes.

Standpipe Fire Protection System

Standpipe systems are fixed piping systems that transport water from a reliable water source to areas of buildings where hoses can be deployed for firefighting, saving firefighters time and energy by eliminating the need for long and cumbersome hose lays. They are typically installed in well-protected, safe areas where firefighters can access them safely, such as fire exit staircases and building entrances.

Fire Pump

Fire pumps deliver water for fire suppression by increasing the water supply pressure available from tanks or other sources. They can be electric-driven or diesel engine driven and comes in different pressure and flow ranges. Vertical turbine type fire pumps are designed for below ground water sources and is more space efficient, whereas horizontal split case and End suction fire pumps are designed for above ground water tank.

Preaction Fire Suppression System

Preaction systems are typically found in areas where inadvertent water leakage from system piping is of major concern, such as museums and rooms containing servers, computers, and telecommunication equipment. They can also be found, particularly the double interlock preaction sprinklers, in deep-freeze facilities where accidental valve operation can result in freezing and damage to the system piping.

Foam Fire Suppression System

Firefighting foams, a key component of foam fire suppression systems, are specifically designed to combat flammable and combustible liquid fuel fires. These foams, created by mixing foam concentrate with water and expanding it with air, serve a crucial role in fire suppression. They are particularly effective in suppressing liquid fuel vapors and cooling the liquid surface.

Portable Fire Extinguisher

Fire extinguishers are used for incipient firefighting to combat small fires. Before choosing an extinguisher, it is important to know the size and nature of the fuels present and whether any chemicals in the area will react adversely with an extinguishing agent. NFPA 10, Standard for Portable Fire Extinguishers classifies fires according to the fuel involved.
